How verification works
Four levels, each earned from real database status — never self-claimed.
Basic
Email verified at signup. Every AmuPit account confirms its email address before it can use the marketplace.
Trustedlevel 2
Email and phone number verified with a one-time SMS code. Phone numbers are never shown to other users.
Verified Sellerlevel 3
Identity verified through a licensed identity-verification provider. AmuPit never stores ID documents itself.
Established Sellerlevel 4
Verified seller with completed transactions and consistently strong reviews over time.
How to buy safely
Check the trust badges
Badges on a seller's profile show exactly what they've verified — email, phone, or identity. Badges can't be claimed; they're earned through real verification.
Ask before you buy
Message the seller inside AmuPit about condition, accessories, and history. How a seller answers tells you a lot.
Keep payments on AmuPit
Pay through AmuPit to keep your transaction connected to your order and applicable Buyer Protection. Payments made outside AmuPit — Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, direct bank or wire transfer, gift cards, crypto, or direct PayPal — may not be covered by applicable Buyer Protection.
Meet safely for pickup
Meet in a safe public place, inspect the item, and use the AmuPit pickup confirmation code to complete the order.
How to sell safely
Describe accurately
Honest photos (4+ required), the real condition, and a fair price. Misleading listings get reported and reviewed.
Get verified
Verify your phone and identity to earn trust badges — verified sellers get more responses.
Use pickup confirmation
Enter the buyer's pickup code when they collect the item. It protects you and completes the order.
Watch for scams
Never accept overpayments, ship before payment, or follow buyers off-platform.
Local pickup & confirmation
- Meet in a safe, public place — never at a private residence.
- Payment is completed through AmuPit — never pay cash at pickup for a transaction that should be processed through AmuPit.
- Exact addresses and phone numbers are never shown publicly.
- Inspect the item before completing the pickup.
- The seller enters your one-time pickup code to complete the order — it can't be reused or forged.
If something goes wrong
Report it
Every listing and profile has a Report option. Reports go straight to our trust & safety queue — your identity stays private.
Open a dispute
For a paid order, you can open a dispute, upload evidence (photos, tracking), and both sides explain what happened. Go to orders
Refunds
When a dispute is resolved in the buyer's favor, the refund is processed through AmuPit's payment system — never by manual transfers.
Was your account or a listing restricted by trust & safety? Submit an appeal — every appeal is reviewed by a human.
7-Day Buyer Protection
Buyers can report qualifying problems within 7 calendar days after delivery or confirmed local pickup.
Qualifying problems
- Item significantly different from the listing
- Item not functioning as represented
- Wrong item received
- Major undisclosed damage
- Counterfeit or fraudulent item
What it doesn't cover
Ordinary change of mind is not automatically covered. Seller-specific voluntary return policies may provide additional protection — check the listing before you buy.
A protection claim is separate from a refund or a return: claims are reviewed through AmuPit's dispute process, and refunds are processed through AmuPit's payment system — never by manual transfers.

Prohibited items
AmuPit does not permit illegal or prohibited goods. Suspicious listings are flagged for review and removed when they break the rules.
- Stolen or lost devices
- Counterfeit and replica electronics
- Locked, iCloud-locked, or blacklisted devices
- Illegal drugs and controlled substances
- Weapons, firearms, and ammunition
- Tobacco, vape, and age-restricted products
- Government IDs, passports, and financial documents
- Anything illegal under applicable law
Scam prevention
Never send money outside AmuPit, and watch for these signs:
- Requests to pay with gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency
- Pressure to move the conversation off AmuPit immediately
- Asking for your verification or one-time codes
- Prices dramatically lower than comparable listings
- Sellers who refuse pickup or in-platform payment
AmuPit automatically flags off-platform payment requests in messages for review. One flag never means a ban — a human always decides.
