How can we help?

Answers about buying, selling, fees, orders, and buyer protection.

Pay through AmuPit

Pay through AmuPit to keep your transaction connected to your order and applicable Buyer Protection.

Payments made outside AmuPit may not be covered by applicable Buyer Protection.

AmuPit checkout is the only supported way to pay for marketplace purchases — never pay by Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, direct bank or wire transfer, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or direct PayPal, and don't pay cash for a transaction that should be processed through AmuPit. For local pickup, payment still goes through AmuPit and the order is completed with the AmuPit pickup confirmation.

Buying

How to buy on AmuPit

Search or browse electronics by category, condition, price, and location. Compare listings, message the seller with any questions, then make an offer or buy now. Pay securely through AmuPit checkout and arrange local pickup or shipping. Every qualifying purchase is covered by 7-Day Buyer Protection.

Searching and filtering listings

Use the search bar or the Browse page to find electronics. Filter by category, New or Used, condition, price range, brand, and city or ZIP to narrow results. You can save a search for quick access from your dashboard.

Contacting a seller

Use the Message seller button on any listing to start an in-app conversation. Keep all communication inside AmuPit — messages on the platform are protected and can be reviewed if something goes wrong. Never move to text or email before a purchase is complete.

How checkout works

When you choose Buy now, you pay through secure Stripe checkout hosted by AmuPit. Your total — item price, any applicable shipping, and any applicable tax — is shown clearly before you pay. Card details are processed by the payment provider and never stored by AmuPit.

Does AmuPit charge buyers a marketplace fee?

AmuPit currently does not charge buyers a separate AmuPit marketplace service fee. Buyers pay the displayed item price plus applicable shipping, taxes, and other disclosed charges — the full total is always shown before you pay.

Welcome credit for new buyers

New buyers receive a welcome credit applied automatically at checkout on their first qualifying purchase — no promo code needed. The credit and your final total are clearly shown in the order summary before you pay.

Referral program

Share your referral link from the Refer a friend page. Give your friend a welcome credit on their first qualifying purchase, and earn an AmuPit credit when they complete a qualifying purchase. Credits are issued after review and approval, may expire if unused, and can be reversed if the qualifying purchase is refunded or cancelled. Credits apply to qualifying completed purchases only and can't be stacked with other promotions.

Sales tax and other charges

Applicable sales tax and shipping are separate from the item price. Everything you owe — item price, taxes, and shipping — is disclosed before you pay. AmuPit never adds hidden charges.

Order tracking and status

Track every order from your Buyer dashboard. For local pickup, the seller completes the handoff by entering your one-time pickup confirmation code. For shipped orders, tracking details appear on the order once the seller ships it.

Local pickup

Choose local pickup to meet the seller in a safe public place, inspect the item, and give the seller your one-time pickup confirmation code to complete the order. Exact addresses and phone numbers are never shown publicly.

What happens after you buy

After payment, your order appears in your dashboard with live status updates. After delivery or confirmed pickup, you can review the seller, and the 7-Day Buyer Protection window applies to qualifying issues.

How 7-Day Buyer Protection works

You can report qualifying problems within 7 calendar days after delivery or confirmed local pickup. Qualifying issues include items significantly different from the listing, not functioning as represented, wrong items, major undisclosed damage, or counterfeit items. Claims are reviewed through the dispute process.

Reporting a problem

Every listing and profile has a Report option that goes straight to our trust & safety team. For paid orders, open a dispute from your dashboard, upload evidence such as photos or tracking, and explain what happened — both sides get to respond.

Selling

Starting to sell on AmuPit

Any AmuPit account can start selling immediately — there's no separate seller application or approval wait. Open Sell on AmuPit, create your listing, and publish. Payout setup runs through Stripe Connect when required to receive your earnings, and you'll always see your estimated transaction costs and expected payout before publishing. Certain transactions, listings, accounts, or payouts may be subject to automated or risk-based verification, payment-provider requirements, or Trust & Safety review.

How to create a listing

Any AmuPit account can sell — there's no separate seller application. Add at least 4 clear photos, a descriptive title, the item's condition, your price, and your city or ZIP, then publish. You'll see your estimated earnings before publishing, and you can complete payout setup through Stripe whenever you're ready to receive earnings.

Pricing your item

You set your own price — AmuPit never adjusts it. AmuPit currently charges a 0.99% commission on qualifying completed sales, and you'll see your estimated commission, payment-processing costs, and expected payout before you publish. Compare similar listings to find a competitive price point; honest pricing leads to faster sales and better reviews.

Choosing the right condition

AmuPit requires you to mark items as New or Used, with a detailed condition from New or Open Box down to For Parts. Accurate, honest conditions lead to better reviews and fewer disputes.

Seller pricing on AmuPit

Current AmuPit seller pricing: AmuPit currently charges a 0.99% seller commission on qualifying completed sales. Listing fees are currently $0 and there is currently no separate monthly seller subscription fee. Applicable payment-processing costs are separate and may be deducted from transaction proceeds according to the payment provider and payment method. You'll see your estimated commission, payment-processing costs, and expected payout before you publish — the estimate updates as you change your price, and your final processing cost and net payout are determined from the completed transaction. AmuPit may change its pricing in the future subject to applicable notice and updated terms.

How sellers receive payment

Buyers pay through AmuPit's secure checkout. When a transaction completes, your payout is sent to your connected Stripe account — connect it once through Stripe's secure onboarding (identity and bank verification), then earnings are paid out from there. Payments never happen by manual transfers outside the platform.

Managing and editing listings

From Seller listings you can edit, pause, resume, duplicate, mark sold, or remove listings at any time. You can also promote a listing to reach more buyers.

Selling safely

Verify your phone and identity to earn trust badges, keep conversations and payments on AmuPit, always use the pickup confirmation code, and never accept overpayments or off-platform payment requests. Verified sellers get more responses.

Prohibited and restricted items

Stolen or blacklisted devices, counterfeits and replicas, weapons, illegal drugs, tobacco and vape products, and government IDs are prohibited. Listings that break the rules are removed and accounts may be suspended.

Orders & Payments

Payment methods

AmuPit checkout accepts major credit and debit cards through Stripe. All payments are processed securely. Never pay a seller by wire transfer, gift card, or cryptocurrency — those payments can't be protected or recovered.

Order statuses explained

Orders move through statuses like pending payment, paid, preparing, ready for pickup or shipped, delivered, and completed. Check your dashboard for the latest status of every purchase and sale.

Cancellations, refunds, and disputes

If something goes wrong with a paid order, open a dispute from your dashboard within the protection window. Upload evidence and explain what happened — both sides respond and a human reviews the case. Approved refunds are processed through AmuPit's payment system, never by manual transfers.

Payment problems

If your payment fails, double-check your card details and billing address and try again. For repeated failures or unexpected charges, contact AmuPit support through the Help Center.

Account & Security

Seller address privacy: what buyers can see

AmuPit protects your privacy by default. What buyers can see - Your public location: your city ("San Jose, CA") or, if you choose, a masked ZIP area ("ZIP 951XX"). - Whether local pickup is available. What buyers can never see - Your street address, apartment or unit number, exact residence, or exact residential coordinates. Your exact address is never displayed on listings, search results, seller profiles, alerts, emails, or shared previews. Your privacy controls (Seller hub → Seller address privacy) - Seller type: Personal (default) or Business. Personal sellers are never required to display a home address; business sellers may optionally display a legitimate business location. - Public location precision: City only (recommended) or ZIP area. - Pickup preference: 1. Keep my address private (recommended) — buyers see only your approximate area; arrange pickup through AmuPit messaging. 2. Use a designated pickup location — show buyers a public meeting spot you choose, like a shopping center or public business. 3. Share exact pickup address after confirmed order — your exact address is disclosed only to that buyer, only after payment is confirmed and the order goes through. 4. Arrange pickup details through AmuPit messaging. Private shipping address You can save a complete private address for shipping labels, returns, and verification. It is stored securely, is never shown publicly, and never appears on your listings just because you offer shipping. Safety recommendations - Meet buyers at a public location — do not meet at home. - Never display an apartment or unit number publicly. - Keep payment inside AmuPit checkout. - Arrange pickup details through AmuPit messaging.

Creating and verifying your account

Sign up with email or Google. Every account confirms its email address before it can use the marketplace. Verifying your phone number and identity earns additional trust badges.

Phone verification

Add your phone number on the Verification page to receive a one-time SMS code. Your number is used only for verification — it is never shown to other users.

Resetting your password

Use the Forgot password link on the login page. Reset instructions are emailed to your registered address. For security, reset links expire after a short period.

Keeping your account secure

Use a strong, unique password, never share verification or pickup codes with anyone, and keep all payments inside AmuPit. AmuPit will never ask you for your password or one-time codes.

Reporting suspicious activity

Use the Report button on any listing, profile, or review to alert our trust & safety team. AmuPit also automatically flags off-platform payment requests in messages for review — every case is decided by a human.

Buyer Protection

Why should I keep my transaction on AmuPit?

All payments for purchases initiated on AmuPit must be completed through AmuPit checkout. Do not pay or accept payment outside AmuPit for an AmuPit transaction. This includes cash, Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, direct PayPal, bank or wire transfers, gift cards, cryptocurrency, money orders, and external payment links — whether online or at pickup. Why it matters: • Payment safety — AmuPit checkout uses a secure payment provider, so your card details never go to the other user. • Transaction records — your order, payment, shipping or pickup, and message history are all recorded on the platform. • Buyer Protection — purchases completed through AmuPit may qualify for AmuPit's Buyer Protection program according to its terms. AmuPit cannot provide transaction protection for payments made outside the platform, and we cannot help recover off-platform payments. • Seller records — sellers also keep transaction, order, payment, fulfillment, and communication records, which serve as evidence if a dispute arises. • Dispute support — if something goes wrong, our team can review the full on-platform record. • Fraud prevention — off-platform payment requests are one of the most common scam patterns. Keeping the transaction on AmuPit protects both sides. What about local pickup? Local pickup is welcome — but payment still happens through AmuPit. Place the order, pay through AmuPit checkout, arrange pickup in AmuPit messages, and confirm with your pickup code once you receive the item. Never pay with cash, Zelle, or Venmo at pickup. If someone asks you to pay or accept payment outside AmuPit, do not send money — report the message directly from the conversation so our Trust & Safety team can review it.

7-Day Buyer Protection

You can report qualifying problems within 7 calendar days after delivery or confirmed local pickup. Qualifying issues include an item significantly different from its listing, an item that doesn't function as represented, the wrong item, major undisclosed damage, or a counterfeit item. Ordinary change of mind is not covered, and a seller's voluntary return policy may give you more. A protection claim is separate from a refund or return: claims are reviewed through the dispute process, and approved refunds are issued through AmuPit's payment system.

Returns, refunds, cancellations, and change of mind

Buyer Protection, returns, refunds, and cancellations are different things. Buyer Protection covers qualifying problems reported within 7 days. Returns depend on each seller's voluntary policy — AmuPit does not promise that every purchase can be returned. Refunds are issued through the dispute process when a qualifying claim is approved. Cancellations may be possible before an order is fulfilled.
